Why Do I Blog?
As a novice blogger of just eight months, I blog mainly to sort out what I think. I also do it to have a voice. What I get in return is the time and attention of kind people who read and comment on my scribblings. I cannot tell you how much I value these acts of generosity. Their thoughts augment and develop my thinking. @josiefraser, a UK academic I follow on Twitter, calls this collaborative knowledge construction.
Blogs I Read
I have been evaluating global workplace trends for the past three or four years, and so read an eclectic mix of commentators who write on diverse technological, demographic, economic and business topics.
What Have I Learned?
Blogging was initially scary. What if I am talking rubbish? Well, sometimes I do talk nonsense – who doesn’t? What if I get heckled and disparaged? Am delighted to report that my experience is entirely positive. All comments have been respectful.
Blogging has now become compelling. If I had not started blogging, I would not be given the chance to talk to you. I shall be following the Build Your Blog Workshop from the UK and looking forward to it. Enjoy!
